Summer Sundress
Non-white wedding dress?
I don’t want to wear a white wedding dress. I actually don’t want to wear a “traditional” wedding dress at all – that includes a wedding dress in another colour.
I’ve fallen in love with what is basically a summer sundress… It’s got a sweatheart neck-line, spaghetti straps, fitted through the torso and flares out for the skirt. It goes to about mid-calf length. It’s made of cotton and brightly coloured with red, pink, green and blue horizontal stripes and is a really a fun but also stunning dress.
My HTB is not wearing a tux and our wedding will be quite small (~50 people), outdoors at a cottage. It’s not going to be formal and very few traditional aspects. It’s more of a picnic or a day at the cottage than it is a traditional wedding.
My friends are telling me I will regret this, that it’s my “one chance” to dress up, etc. This isn’t a money decision but a “this is more me” decision. Will I regret it? I’m not comfortable in a formal dress. Experience, advice?? Thank you!

NO, no, no….you will not regret it. Never mind what your friends say. Not every bride has the “princess idea” in her head. You do what YOU are comfortable with. To be quite honest, I think a traditional gown would not be suitable given your venue.
It all sounds really nice and casual to me. It’s perfect and you will, I’m sure, be happy with it.
