Watching this year’s models walk down the strip possibly brought back some memories. A mix of a 60s housewife, an office receptionist and a bombshell could have spring to mind. As tacky as that sounds, the look is actually quite astonishing. By mixing up the 50s, 60s, 70s and today, a new style has emerged.
A silky, flared gathered skirt that drapes the knees together with a showing low-cut, brightly printed top caught everyone’s attention. Donna Reed, as she'd look today is kind of attractive. Complete with some pointed toe heels sporting wide glossy bows let the nightlife begin.
What’s interesting about this year’s summer styles is that there’s something for everybody. Above the knee, below the knee and mid-calf are all featured, wrapping together the 60s and 70s. There doesn’t to appear to be any one precise color but a bunch of pleasing tans, blues, and black.
Career minded ladies can find a below the knee skirt with low scooped neckline tops in assorted designs. Square cut, rounded, collared or draped cuts accented with macram or lace make a feminine look. Layered lace dresses show the world it's OK to be modest and horny. Tassels that hang in front from the waist are very good for providing a new look to a plain dress.
No matter your body shape, dresses have been designed to make you radiate. Belted gathered dresses with a modest lovely top may not exhibit much skin but being modest in dress has traditionally been sexy. Straight shifts that carry a long lean body turn heads way more than a pants suit. Sheer maxi dresses are the one exception to the rule.
Casual wear features long, loosely fitted bellbottoms and of course, denim. Accentuating curves in all of the right places seems to be more of importance than jeans of the past. No worry, thin jeans are still here and likely will be for a bit. The army scene that has lasted long over 10 years is eventually over.
The punk scene hasn't dissipated but evolved in a rather more positive way. Gone with the gothic and grunge and in with the leather and unusual tees. Teenagers are still making a statement in ways that show style but are employing a more motorcycle stylish trend to point out it. Biker clothing is also finding a rather more gentle and engaging flair by adding suede, belts and color.
The fashions of dresses and outfits for this year are establishing that a more pleasing look is necessary. By taking the very best of the past and updating to fit today's world is just what was expected. Well fitting clothing that show feminism and confidence is the result .
