Proper Choice of Bridesmaid Dress Attire
Not all women are shaped the same and it isn’t likely that your chosen bridesmaids will be the same size. Even if they were the same, more than likely they’d all have different features to hide. Evaluate Body Types
Take a realistic look at the bodies of your bridesmaids. Look at a picture of each girl by herself and imagine how a dress would look on her. Decide which features such as bellies, behinds and boobs, should be covered up or highlighted.
Dress Colors
Black is a slimming color that covers up most embarrassing flaws, making a girl feel more comfortable. Bright or light colors show most things that a dark color would normally hide. Though color can reveal a lot, cut and style also make a difference.
Dress Fabric
If you are large or small, some fabrics are unforgiving regardless. Stay away from spandex, satin, and fitted silk dresses. A light polyester cotton blend, chiffon, or rayon blend would be better choices. They will stretch rather than squeeze and enhance unwanted features.
Sleeves
Consider what a girl’s arms would look like in a sleeveless dress. Strapless and sleeveless dresses don’t look flattering for some women. When looking at the various dress styles, be sure to take this into consideration. If you are set on sleeveless and soft of the bridesmaids are uncomfortable, offer a shawl or wrap for them to cover with.
Accessories
Belts, shawls, bolero jackets, and gloves could really change the look and bring unity to a dress that may look a little bit off. A belt can define a waistline, while choosing a wide ribbon can hide belly bulk or show of small waistlines. Cover unsightly arm flabbiness with a bolero jacket while adding style no matter what arm size.
Styles
The same dress doesn’t have to be worn by all bridesmaids. Choosing a different style of dress while keeping the color the same has become common. Having a different neckline, length or form fit may be chosen, but they will all be similar and coordinated.
