Using Hearts In Your Wedding Design
Weddings are all about love and romance. What better way to symbolize this than by choosing a very romantic theme for your special day? Everyone will feel the romance when you decorate your wedding with hearts.
You almost have to have a romantic heart theme if you are planning to get married on Valentine’s Day. Of course, a heart theme is equally charming for a spring, summer, or fall wedding. You may wish to start by choosing your color palette. The most popular hues for a heart motif are red and pink, with purple being another great option. Pink hearts are sweet and girly, while red ones are more passionate. Opt with a dark aubergine hue for an evening wedding, or a sweet lilac for an afternoon reception. You can easily add touches of ivory or silver to your signature hue.
Your wedding invitations should definitely feature your signature heart motif. Open hearts make a beautiful wedding stationery motif. It would also be really cute to choose letterpress invitations with a slightly retro red and aqua heart design. A simple red or pink heart engraved on heavy cotton rag paper is an elegant take on the heart invitation. A fun idea for a beach wedding is to design custom invitations made by using a photo of your initials drawn in a heart shape in the sand.
With such a romantic wedding theme, it only makes sense to select very pretty wedding attire. A romantic wedding dress with flowing sleeves would be gorgeous. For a spring or summer wedding, fluttery dresses in pink or red chiffon are wonderful for bridesmaids. Crystal heart earrings are the ideal bridesmaid gifts for a heart theme wedding. Pretty crystal heart earrings are one of those timeless bridesmaid jewelry gifts that your friends will use for many years after your wedding. Get the groom in on the heart theme too. For a fun detail, the groom could wear suspenders with hearts on them under his tuxedo jacket. Another possibility is to wrap a ribbon with a tiny heart print around the stem of his lapel flower.
Have fun designing a wedding cake that showcases your heart motif. You will find that there are quite a few possibilities for this design. One simple design is a white on white cake with small hearts piped around the edge of the tiers in frosting. It would be so pretty to top the cake with an interlocking heart topper. A heart shaped wedding cake is a super cute design. Top your lovely cake with handmade frosting flowers. A pretty effect would be to have lots of tiny three-dimensional hearts all over the sides of the cake. Choose a few hues to use for the hearts, such as rose and crimson.
You will find so many additional ideas for using your heart motif. Truffles formed into hearts are an ideal favor. Another idea is to use fun touches like a pair of large heart shaped croutons topping the soup course or heart shaped marshmallows on hot cocoa for a winter wedding. You might even wish to hang clear crystal hearts from the ceiling. The charming possibilities for designing a romantic heart theme wedding are virtually endless!
