This may seem like a dumb question but ….?
it is really worrying me. I have allergies i know that but i dont know what i allergic to. Im 18 years old and i live in florida and this allergie season seems to be really bad because this is the first year that i have had allergies. Anways last week after petting a rabbit and scratching my eye my eye swelled up but only a little. Thn a few days ago i woke up and rubbed my eye because it ictchs and it swelled up a little. THen today i woke up and my eye iches so i rubbed it and then i relized my eye was swollen up alot but only one eye and its only the lower eye lid. I have had lots of problems with my eyes over the past month. Pink eye, watery eyes, ichy eyes… ect. I was wondering is swelling normal with allergies, it is only one eye that is effected and it is not red it just is dry and iches a little, the swollen area is not red just puffy, and how do i find out what i am allergic to. Does anyone have an idea of what this might be.
you are having a reaction to the “dander” in the rabbit fur. People arent allergic to animals…they are allergic to their dander. Because you touched your eye you introduced the dander to the membranes & the body is reacting with histamines causing swelling & itching. Try an antihistamine such as Benadryl. It will make you very drowsy so be ready to sleep. If this doesnt help then I would consult your doctor for an antibiotic eye drop. It could have progressed to an infection from irritation. good luck.
