Enjoying Budapest, An Eastern European Gem
Called the “Pearl of the Danube” and the “Little Paris of Central Europe”, Budapest is definitely a place worth seeing for yourself. One of the deeply held loves for the people of Budapest is their love of the arts and there is no better place to experience the Hungarian art experience than through a visit to the Hungarian State Opera House. This structure is an architectural jewel and houses performances that include operas, plays, concerts and ballets. Attending any of the performances can give the visitor insight into Hungarian history as well as modern day culture.
One of the best ways to experience Budapest is by bike. Definitely rent a bike or bring your own, as the streets are very bike friendly, and you can only get into Castle Hill on bike or on foot. Just exploring is a great way to become acquainted with a city or a culture, and it’s also great exercise, and incredibly cheap. Visiting the typical tourist attractions is not the way to experience Budapest. Do some research on your own, and just get lost for an afternoon.
