Find The Perfect Flower Girl Or Ring Bearer Outfit For Any Type Of Wedding Ceremony
Dressing the little ones in your wedding can be very fun. The flower girl and ring bearer always look so adorable! There are different types of attire which will look the best, depending on the location and style of your wedding. This is a look at the various options for flower girl and ring bearer attire.
If your wedding will be on the formal side, look for a classic satin frock for your flower girl. Formal for a young girl means a dress that hits a little above the ankle, not floor length. Typically the flower girl’s dress is either the same shade as the wedding dress or the bridesmaid dresses. Look for a dress with embellishments like embroidery for an extra flourish. A petite pair of crystal heart earrings would be very sweet with a satin dress. Patent leather shoes will complete her outfit. A tuxedo will work for the young man in a formal wedding. Depending on what the men in the wedding party are wearing, either a bow tie or a regular tie can be worn with the tux. Tuxes are a bit much on the youngest boys; a shantung sailor suit would be the appropriate alternative. A cream sailor outfit will go nicely with the little girl’s dress.
Consider yourself in luck if you are having a garden ceremony, because you will have tons of terrific dress options for your flower girl. A taffeta dress with a big fabric flower at the waist is a great look for an early spring or fall wedding. You can custom order dresses made in your favorite color duo. A fluffy bow on the back of the dress will make it even sweeter. An organdy version of this frock will suit a summery outdoor ceremony. Pretty pink crystal heart earrings will be the perfect accessory, along with ballet slippers for her feet. The Eton suit (with knickers!) is a timeless formal ring bearer outfit. Some people just don’t like the traditional outfit and opt for a jacket and nice pants instead.
If you are having a beach wedding, look for outfits that are light and comfortable for the children in your bridal party. A sleeveless seersucker dress would be absolutely perfect for the flower girl. Either classic pale blue or pink seersucker stripes will look fantastic. She can wear it with cute sandals, like silver Jack Rogers. Instead of a basket of flowers, give your little one a tin bucket of seashells and starfish to carry down the aisle (she does not need to toss them!). The ring bearer will look handsome in blue stripe seersucker shorts and a golf shirt. Classic boat shoes will complete his look. It would be fun to give him a ring pillow with a nautical theme, like an embroidered anchor motif.
Many weddings are very casual. A cute and comfy sundress is a good option for your flower girl. The color of her dress does not need to match what the bridesmaids are wearing for a casual ceremony. The little girl can wear a bright pink sundress with cheerful orange embroidery on it. The ring bearer could wear khaki shorts with a gingham check button down shirt. Another cute idea is to put the little girl in a preppy Vineyard Vines dress and the ring bearer in a pair of shorts made from the same material. You will have lots of great options for an informal wedding.
