Do you agree with me that the new GAP logo was better?

the new logo was dropped due to complaints, but that existing logo is just so tired. The font is just totally out of date, it just makes me think of 1994.
I like to think I have a good eye for these things.
the old font is a serif font, it is totally out, maybe it is so out that it is almost in again. But for a shop having that old font is lunacy.
I speak as a lay person, I make some commercial software but I’m not a web graphic designer or anything, but you just have to look around
With 30 years under my belt in print and design I personally would say the old logo is the stronger one. But at the end of the day it is not a logo on an item of clothing that sells the product it is a combination of branding, quality, styling and pricing. If people like Gap clothing they will buy it whether the logo is reversed out of a solid or just text with a square slapped randomly on it. Rehashing a logo in my experience is only beneficial to the graphic designers.
