Capri Pant Set
Question about packing hospital bag when baby arrives?
So I plan on delivering in a hospital gown because I really do not want to get the blood etc all over my stuff… and it really does not bother me to wear one. Anyway, I get to stay a total of 3 days in the hospital, if I have a vaginal delivery. I was wondering how many pairs or pjs or night gowns I should bring for me? I thought I would just bring one, but then if I bleed through or something, I would want something extra. Also, were you cold in the hospital. I am due in 12 days, and I did not know whether I should pack like a top/bottom – capri/ pant set or if I should pack 1 night gown and like 2 pair of pj pants just in case I bleed through? Thanks for all your opinions… I just really do not want to pack too much!
I do also realize that someone could bring up extra clothes… I am just trying to avoid the hassle!
Labour isn’t really messy and all blood! Your very safe to deliver baby in one of your regular nighties or even a tshirt because when it does get to the slightly bloody stage (pushing), whatever your wearing by this point is up to your waste anyway! So just what you feel most comfortable and comforted in will be best. Hospitals are very warm places, especially the maternity unit, it has to be for baby’s sake.
If your planned duration of stay is 3 days, I’d recommend packing a fresh set of night wear for each night. During the day your able to identify leaks and change your pad accordingly but during the night, this won’t be the case to bleeding onto your clothing will be unavoidable unless wearing a nappy! Lol
Ooooo, the sock whilst in labour is a great idea because for some reason, our toes do get very cold. Weird but definitely fact.
