Advice For Setting Up A Rewarding Candy Fundraiser
To begin with you must know what you want to raise the funds for. It can be a local, a regional or a national event. If it is a subject that people will feel drawn towards, then it should almost certainly be a success. Folks are inclined to support what in their view is a good and worthwhile cause and there are not a lot of people who will manage to resist candy fundraiser events.
It can be fun and is not hard to set up, if you have a small group of excited and dedicated helpers. All it needs is a few unique or proven approaches to help market the cause. Using the individual and team strengths and expertise to organize and run the fund raising should produce great results. Individuals work best in their own area of expertise.
One of the more important jobs is the candy. Volunteers are often recruited to produce various kinds of home made candies for sale at charity events. Try approaching neighborhood groups such as church or sewing groups for help. Or ask family and friends to help out. Should you wish to do something on a grander scale call businesses such as sweets sellers or manufacturers explaining your cause and requesting donations of candy in return for free advertising.
Determine what other events are on in your community and then determine if there is a potential to combine forces or use the event as part of your efforts. Sports events in particular draw reasonably good crowds and they’re of the variety that usually have a sweet tooth. Other kinds of venues which are good to try are church events and carnivals or fetes. If everything else fails you have the old chestnut, your family, friends and neighbours who will usually be persuaded to spend their cash.
Depending on the scale of your fund raising and the cause, it is usually advisable to check with the local authorities first that you’re not about to breach some laws. Make sure you don’t need a vendors license.
If it is a fund raiser for a charity or some other good cause, let the designated recipient know of the event and invite them to attend or be represented. It helps to show the legitimacy of your event. It can also help to increase the income when the recipient is there.
Advertise your candy fundraising. Notify the local newspapers that the event is taking place and they may give you some free advertising. Put up posters in local shops and public places. Speak to your local radio stations and possibly get them to do an on-air interview about your fund raising projects. Each one of these things can only help to raise your funds.
