The Right Colors For Your Spring Wedding
Spring is in the air! A great way to infuse your wedding with a spring feeling is to use the signature colors of the season for your decorations, attire, bridesmaid jewelry, and other accessories. These ideas for adding spring color to your wedding will be sure to make it a bright and lively event.
Even if you consider yourself not a pastel person, the classic spring hues are hard to resist: pale pink, lilac, spring green, soft yellow, and baby blue. They evoke a soft breeze, new growth of flowers, and warm sunshine– or, in other words, spring! For a spring bride, it is almost impossible not to use a least a few hints of these colors in your wedding. Keep in mind that you can use just a few subtle touches here and there, such as pink bridesmaid jewelry with charcoal gray dresses, or go all out with an abundance of Easter hues throughout your celebration.
For something less exuberant, try combining just one spring hue with a neutral or deep color. Instead of blue ties, add pink striped ties to navy suits for a fresh spring wedding look. Lilac colored bouquets would be beautiful with champagne bridesmaid dresses instead of white flowers. If you are so inclined, it can be fun to go all out with a palette of many different spring colors. Because the spring pastels are similar in depth, it is easy to combine them. The same concept works well for wedding attire. A patterned bridesmaid dress, such as a madras check, is a good option that comes in many great spring hues. White pearl bridesmaid jewelry and neutral colored shoes will keep the look balanced. Prints are a great way to mix and match a large palette of pastels. Choose a trio of fabrics that work together — a stripe, a floral and a tiny geometric. Use these patterns on tablecloths, throw pillows in the reception lounge, and they’ll even work on your wedding cake. The result is pretty, informal, and welcoming to your guests, much like an eclectic English country house.
Another way to infuse your wedding with spring color is to select two shades to combine into a signature wedding palette. All of the spring pastels can be used in a palette successfully, but some options are more popular than others, such as: pink with green, blue with yellow, and lilac with green or yellow. Pink and green is a pretty and simple palette; flowers, linens, and bridesmaid dresses are readily available in this palette, and bridesmaid jewelry looks beautiful in a soft rose tone.
You can even try pale pink bridal gowns! The blue and yellow palette appeals to both brides and grooms, and lilac palettes work for brides that want a pastel palette that avoids pink and green. Whichever colors you choose, it is nearly impossible to go wrong with a pretty spring colored wedding!
